Surfing in Northern Nicaragua

Northern Nicaragua offers an abundance of surf breaks ranging from fun, classic point breaks, barreling reef breaks to beach breaking hollow fast tubes. There are surf breaks which work on all tides, high, mid and low. Typically the surf from April to November has the most consistent swells from 4-6 feet with bigger 8-12 feet swells possible. From November to January its usually waist to chest high offshore and from February to March there are mid-size swells, always offshore in the morning. At Aurora Leon, we surf all year long. We have spent the last 5 years scouting every possible surfable wave and all the property along these waves.
